- Grantsmanship: Obtained ~845k in competitive funding, including grants from both NSF and USDA.
- Publications: 21 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and lab manuals, with half a dozen manuscripts that are in preparation. Publications have had a relatively high impact with over 1000 citations .
- First author on an article in the British JournalNature. Invited to develop and edit a special issue in the Archives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology.
- National and international recognition: >110 conference talks since 2000 including international invitations
- Teaching: Maintained teaching evaluations of greater average than 4.5 out of 5 over the last 15 years. Trained greater than >40 graduate students, 30 have successfully completed their Master’s degrees (22 Thesis, 8 Advanced projects); ~10 students are finishing up their theses currently. Trained >50 undergraduate students as research hours or through class supervised research projects that were then presented at Undergraduate Research Day. Mentored the completion of five Honors thesis students.

Provided substantial youth community service such as the McDonough County YMCA Swim Team President and Official, YMCA Board Member, YMCA Archery Instructor, and 4H Archery Instructor.
