Resume Tips for BGS Majors with Extensive Experience in the Field
- Highlight Professional Experience first
- Use action words to start the bullet points
- be very specific and descriptive
- bullet points should be more than a few words, but not as long as a paragraph (usually about one sentence without the period)
- use numbers to quantify money, amount of people worked/communicated with, events held, etc.
- Highlight Internship Experience
- Include relevant certifications
- Include any foreign language fluency
- Include course work if relevant to career path, but
- include descriptive bullet points of the skills you gained from this experience, not just the assignments you completed
- Education will be listed toward the bottom of the Resume (your experience is that important!)
