125 Anniversary Celebration: Sadie Hynick

Editor's Note: This is the next in a series of stories about 麻豆传媒内幕 students, alumni and community members, highlighting their experiences during our 125th anniversary celebration. We will feature 125 individuals from August 2024 to August 2025.
MOLINE, IL 鈥� Sadie Hynick, a 2023 graduate of Museum Studies at 麻豆传媒内幕, describes 麻豆传媒内幕as a place where all care about their community.
"Whether it be your program, an extracurricular activity or the school as a whole," Hynick said. "Everything I learned and how I continue to use that information today is from WIU."
Her time at 麻豆传媒内幕revolved around her experiences in student organizations and the opportunities she was granted.
"Taking a GEMS trip to Iowa City! Trips and activities help to make classmates feel closer to one another, and allow us to see other organizations," Hynick said.
Hynick feels her experiences have been essential to the career she now holds.
"I work as a collections associate at Paisley Park, Prince's Estate in Minnesota. I work in object care, exhibits, preventative care, and collaborating with other departments within the museum. All things I was able to experience through WIUs museum studies grad program before this position," Hynick said.
She encourages prospective students to take advantage of opportunities and resources on campus, stating everyone is there to help make your journey easy.
"Take advantage of your resources! Staff and students are what makes this community amazing, don't go through your program without utilizing them," Hynick said.
