Editor's Note: This is a series of stories about Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ» students, alumni and community members, highlighting their experiences during our 125th anniversary celebration. We will feature 125 individuals from August 2024 to August 2025.

MACOMB, IL - - For alumna Lauren Hall, Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ» is more than just a university; it's where she developed meaningful relationships and gained lifelong experiences.

"When I think about WIU, I think about all the friends I've made and the experiences I've gained," Hall said.

For Hall, being a Leatherneck means carrying Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ»pride.

When reflecting on her time at WIU, Hall fondly remembers the great people she got involved with through Greek life.

"My favorite Leatherneck memory is meeting my best friends through my sorority," Hall said.

Hall, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting and is now pursuing a master's of Accountancy, credits Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ»with preparing her for her career.

"Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ»prepared me professionally," Hall said.

On campus, Hall was a committed student involved in Beta Alpha Psi, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Student Chapter Institute of Management Accountants (SCIMA), Order of Omega, Rho Lambda and Sigma Iota Epsilon.

Hall advises prospective students to attend Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ»and discover the opportunities the campus community has to offer.

"Get involved," Hall said. "It'll help you gain experience and meet people."

As we honor 125 years of educational excellence, we invite local Â鶹´«Ã½ÄÚÄ»students, alumni, faculty and staff to share their stories and be featured in our series. Contact University Communications at U-Communications@wiu.edu to participate.
