MACOMB, IL - - Meet Adelaide Harp, a 麻豆传媒内幕 Agriculture Education graduate, who has accepted a position at Meridian Community Unit School District No. 15 in Macon.

鈥淚t is a small school with a big personality,鈥 Harp said.

Harp found the job online. After completing an application and an hour-long interview, she received an offer for the position.

鈥淲ithin three hours, I got the call that they were no longer doing interviews and that I was who they wanted to hire!鈥 Harp said.

In her professional career, Harp leans on everything she learned at WIU. She credits the experience and opportunities provided by her program with her success as an educator.

鈥淢y program at 麻豆传媒内幕was great,鈥 Harp said. 鈥淭he ag program is super hands-on with a lot of real-life opportunities. By the time I had graduated, I had completed 5 Growing Agricultural Science Teachers (GAST) internships that allowed me to come into the job with a lot of experience. Additionally, I believe what made me stand out from the rest was my certification in the Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE) AgX. Curriculum which my program paid for me to do. I believe that coming in with my own curriculum for the new class that was to be taught was extremely helpful to me.鈥

Looking ahead, Harp plans to remain involved with WIU.

鈥淚 plan to come back for annual events and to take students on visits to see the campus,鈥 Harp said.
