Illinois National Guard (ING) Grant

Eligibility

The Illinois National Guard Grant (ING) is a state entitlement program for qualified Illinois National Guard members. Visit the Ìýto view a complete list of eligibility requirements.

Students must meetÌý Student Academic Progress Ìýin order to continue to receive their ING benefits.

Benefits

ING benefits pay eligible tuition charges and the University activity fee; recipients are responsible for anyÌýremaining fees associated with enrollment. ING benefits are limited to use only at Illinois public colleges or community colleges. Qualified applicants may use this grant at the undergraduate or graduate level for the equivalent of four academic years of full-time enrollment.

PLEASE NOTE: ÌýRequests to change, update, or cancel awards must be made prior to the term billing deadline (generally 2-4 weeks after the appropriate application deadline listed below).

Application

The must be received by the on or before the deadline date, and an application must be submitted for each academic year in which benefits are to be used. If you are a qualified applicant, ISAC will send you an eligibility letter, which you should provide to your college's financial aid office as soon as you receive it. (ISAC's processing time is approximately 4-6 weeks.)

To receive full-year consideration, your application must be received on or beforeÌý October 1 Ìýof the academic year for which you're requesting assistance. For spring- and summer-term consideration, the deadline date isÌý March 1 . For summer-term consideration only, applications must be received on or beforeÌý June 15 . Applications received by ISAC after these deadline dates will be processed only for subsequent terms, with June 15 as the final date of acceptance for the summer term.
